$15 Hot Chips Sparking Huge Lines Returns

A New York restaurant’s viral $15 french fries are back — and once again, crowds are lining up down the street for a taste.

Bel-Fries, the artisan chip shop famous for its 16 dipping sauces, is reintroducing its limited-edition caviar french fries, which feature sour cream, spring onions, and a scoop of luxurious caviar.

When the fries first launched in September, they racked up over three million social media views, sending customers flooding to the shop for its ten-day run.

Owner Annalee Schlossberg, 26, said the goal was to make caviar more accessible:

“People don’t really have a casual place to indulge in a premium product like caviar at such a low price,” she told the New York Post.

The $10 (about AUD $15) fries will return to the menu for a limited time on October 22, once again blending casual comfort with upscale flair.

“The balance of boujee and casual is my favourite,” one Instagram commenter wrote, while another praised the “steal” price.

Bel-Fries’ fries are served hors d’oeuvre style—smaller than their regular portions—to keep prices affordable while maintaining their signature indulgence.

“Bel-Fries has always been about taking something simple and making it feel elevated,” Schlossberg said.
“The caviar fries just made sense—it’s indulgent, playful, and perfectly on brand.”

The caviar fries won’t become a permanent menu item anytime soon. As Schlossberg explained, scarcity fuels demand:

“If it’s only available for a few days, people rush to get it. That urgency is what keeps things exciting.”
